Azerbaijan Aims To Attract Funding For Railway Transportation Projects - Minister


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TBILISI, Georgia, May 4. The plan is to securefunding for projects aimed at upgrading Azerbaijan's railwayinfrastructure, Azerbaijan's Finance Minister Samir Sharifov toldjournalists on the sidelines of the ADB Annual Meeting in Tbilision May 4, Trend reports.

"Our projects with the Asian Development Bank span varioussectors, including mobility and infrastructure, with a strong focuson transportation. We're looking to attract investment for specificinitiatives targeting the enhancement of our railwayinfrastructure, digitization of our rail transport, and efficientmanagement of these endeavors," he explained.

Discussing fundraising for the expansion of the Trans AdriaticPipeline (TAP), Sharifov pointed out that Azerbaijan isn't activelyinvolved as a state.

"We believe the project has sufficiently wealthy stakeholders's operational and profitable, so they may well raise fundsindependently, without needing state support or involvement," headded.
