(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 2. President ofUzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received a delegation fromAzerbaijan led by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov in Tashkent,Trend reports.
Both parties acknowledged that the strategic partnership betweenAzerbaijan and Uzbekistan has strengthened and advanced as a resultof the leaders' strong political will and amicable relationsbetween the two countries.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed initiatives aimed atachieving common economic objectives, as well as the jointcontribution of economic cooperation between the two nations tothese objectives.
According to Mikayil Jabbarov, the execution of this agreementwill strengthen collaborative endeavors aimed at generatingenvironmentally friendly energy and distributing it to Europethrough the territory of Azerbaijan. Furthermore, it will promoteenergy system synchronization and effective implementation ofsustainable energy resources.
To note, a memorandum was signed for cooperation in integratingthe energy systems of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan inTashkent.
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan reached $142million from January through March 2024. The economies of bothnations possess substantial potential for mutual trade indicatorsto escalate to $1 billion in the forthcoming years.
