(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 25. TheInternational Forum to Attract Foreign Investments inTurkmenistan's Energy Sector, launched in Paris, is designed toexpand opportunities for attracting foreign direct investment inall segments of the industry, Trend reports.
This was stated by the Advisor to the President of Turkmenistanon oil and gas issues, Ashirguly Begliev, during a speech at thisevent.
"The purpose of the forum is to expand opportunities to attractforeign direct investment in all segments of the energy sector ofTurkmenistan related to the extraction, transportation, andprocessing of oil and gas, the production of renewable energysources, transportation, construction, as well as environmentalaspects of the development of hydrocarbon fields," he said.
Begliev named service contracts, the creation of joint ventures,and the implementation of projects until they are ready as priorityforms of cooperation with foreign partners.
"Among the main factors in Turkmenistan's growing attractivenessto foreign investors is the stable economic and political situationin the country, as well as the legislative framework and stateguarantee," he added.
Meanwhile, the purpose of this event is to increase the chancesof attracting foreign direct investment in all segments of theenergy sector of Turkmenistan and improve the regional debate onthe future sustainable development of energy.
Data from the Turkmengaz State Concern shows that the country'shydrocarbon resources are estimated at more than 71 billion tons ofoil equivalent.
This volume includes more than 20 billion tons of oil and morethan 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
