(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 27. The emergingopportunities of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route(TITR, or Middle Corridor) show very good results with coordinatedwork, said Deputy Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan MaksatKaliakparov, Trend reports.
He made the remark during the exporters forum and the trade andeconomic cooperation conference themed 'China (Sichuan)-Kazakhstan2024'.
"Just recently, as part of the working visit of President ofKazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Azerbaijan, a teleconferencewas held to meet a container block train that traveled along theTITR from Chinese Xi'an to Azerbaijan's Absheron. If we comparethis with the peak of transportation in the summer of 2022, whencargo delivery times reached 53 days, the emerging capabilities ofTITR show very good results with coordinated work," Kaliakparovsaid.
The Deputy Minister of Transport also spoke about the measurestaken by Kazakhstan to develop this route and noted that allmeasures contribute to the development of logistics routes in theChina-Europe direction and the improvement of transportconnectivity between China and Kazakhstan.
The Middle Corridor is a transportation and trade route thatconnects Asia and Europe, passing through several countries in theregion. It is an alternative route to the traditional NorthernCorridor and Southern Corridor.
The route starts in China and crosses Central Asian countriessuch as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. It then passesthrough the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye beforereaching Europe.
The Middle Corridor offers a land route that connects theeastern parts of Asia, including China, with Europe, bypassing thelonger maritime routes.
