90 percent of rural areas in Iran to be integrated into national gas network

(MENAFN) Against the backdrop of an inauguration ceremony for multiple gas supply projects in Zanjan Province, Majid Chegeni, the esteemed head of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), provided noteworthy insights into the strides made in expanding the country's gas infrastructure.

According to Chegeni, a pivotal milestone is on the horizon as he projected that, by the culmination of the current Iranian calendar year (March 19), an impressive 90 percent of rural areas in Iran will be seamlessly integrated into the national gas network.

This substantial achievement is a testament to the dedicated efforts undertaken since the inception of the current government administration in 2021. A commendable feat during this period has been the successful connection of 5,350 villages and 42 cities to the expansive national gas network, symbolizing a concerted commitment to bolstering the reach of essential resources.

In addition to the remarkable progress in rural gas connectivity, Chegeni underscored another facet of accomplishment—the provision of natural gas to over 8,300 industrial units. This strategic initiative, implemented over the specified period, serves as a catalyst for fostering industrial growth and economic development.

The synchronization of these efforts mirrors the National Iranian Gas Company's unwavering commitment to not only extend the reach of natural gas to rural landscapes but also to bolster the industrial sector, thereby contributing significantly to the overall advancement and enhancement of Iran's infrastructure.
