UNICEF describes terrible situation in Gaza Strip hospitals during current conflict

(MENAFN) UNICEF spokesperson Toby Fricker expressed deep concern over the tragic situation unfolding inside hospitals across the Gaza Strip. In an interview with Al Jazeera from Jordan, he highlighted the dire conditions, particularly in al-Shifa Hospital, where premature babies are struggling to survive due to the severe shortage of electricity and water. Fricker underscored the heart-wrenching experience of parents watching helplessly as their children face life-threatening challenges, emphasizing the catastrophic nature of the current situation.

Fricker painted a grim picture, stating that there is no safe place for children anywhere across the strip amidst the ongoing ferocious bombardment. He stressed the urgent need for international intervention to ensure the protection of children in Gaza amid the escalating conflict. The plea for assistance reflects the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region, urging global efforts to address the immediate needs and safeguard the well-being of vulnerable populations, especially children, caught in the midst of the conflict.
