Chief of Iran's armed forces: Palestinian resistance faces Israeli military

(MENAFN) General Aziz Nasirzadeh, the deputy chief of staff of Iran's armed forces, has praised the Palestinian resistance groups for their ability to challenge the technologically advanced Israeli military with their limited equipment. He noted that the recent conflict in Gaza has vividly demonstrated this capability, emphasizing the stark contrast between the two sides. According to Nasirzadeh, the use of relatively inexpensive rockets by the Palestinian resistance effectively challenged Israel's sophisticated and costly Iron Dome missile defense system.

In his remarks, General Nasirzadeh highlighted the moral dimension of the conflict, stating that the war in Gaza has showcased the struggle between right and wrong. He commended the Palestinian people for their resilience and ability to confront a well-equipped Israeli military force with limited resources. In contrast, he criticized Israel for what he described as cowardice and the use of prohibited weapons, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives and constituted grave violations of humanity.

Speaking at a gathering of Iranian military drone experts, General Nasirzadeh stressed the importance of staying prepared for war, even in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. He acknowledged that the concept of war has transformed over time, introducing new elements like hybrid warfare and electronic warfare. He urged military personnel to stay attuned to these changing dimensions of conflict and to embrace emerging technologies as they prepare for future wars.

The conflict in Gaza erupted two weeks ago following an attack by Palestinian resistance factions on Israeli sites, prompting Israeli shelling of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli regime has unleashed a barrage of nearly 12,000 bombs on Gaza, leading to a dire humanitarian crisis in the region. Israel's actions have included the bombing of the Rafah crossing, a vital entry and exit point for travel and trade, causing widespread disruption. Israel has repeatedly refused calls to reopen the Rafah crossing, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis by restricting the flow of essential supplies, including water, fuel, food, and electricity to the besieged Gaza Strip.
