Commander Naiev Warns Of Possible Provocations, Sabotage Actions At Border With Belarus

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev does not rule out the possibility of provocations and sabotage actions at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.

The relevant statement was made by the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram , an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Naiev, the situation at the border with Belais fully controlled by Ukrainian forces, and no rapid changes are expected there.

Naiev mentioned that Russia's ground component had been fully withdrawn from Belaand is now part of the reserve of the joint grouping of Russian troops involved in the enemy's offensive in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions.

However, a series of CSTO training exercises have been scheduled within the territory of Belafor September 2023, and they can be used to legitimize the increase in military presence.

As Russia failed to achieve its strategic goals, Naiev does not rule out that the aggressor will continue to seek for the new reasons to resume active actions from the northern direction. Therefore, the enemy may organize provocations and sabotage actions at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.

At the same time, Naiev emphasized that no signs of forming strike groupings within the control area of the North Operational Strategic Group of Troops had been detected. But, in view of potential risks from the territory of Belarus, the Ukrainian side is taking measures to increase its countersabotage and defense capabilities.
