Russia shoots pair of Ukrainian drones

(MENAFN) The local press announced on Sunday that a pair of Ukrainian drones were shot down by Russia during an attempted strike over the nation's Bryansk and Kursk regions.

Russian news outlet Tass stated that Ukraine launched “another attempt at terrorist attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation using aircraft-type UAVs.” Tass quoted the Defense Ministry in its report.

“Two unmanned aerial vehicles were detected and destroyed in flight by air defense forces over the territory of the Bryansk and Kursk regions,” it also said.

The past few months have seen a sharp rise in drone attacks inside Russia, particularly in Moscow, the Crimean Peninsula that Russia has illegitimately annexed, and bordering regions of Russia. Authorities have blamed Ukraine for these attacks.

Despite not taking accountability, Ukrainian Leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated last mthat the assaults on Russian soil are an “inevitable, natural and absolutely fair process.”

Many common Russians, according to commentators, are shielded from the effects of the conflict, whereas for Ukrainians, the conflict is a continual presence and a lethal threat.
