More than 17 employees killed by collapsing structure in western India
(MENAFN) More than 17 employees were murdered as well as three others mounded after a crane crumpled on them at a bridge structure location in India’s Maharashtra district on Tuesday.
The employees were involved in the structure of the third stage of the six-lane, 701KM Samruddhi Express Highway in Shahpur, around 70KM from Mumbai.
They were functioning a girder launching engine – a particular crane utilized to transfer hue steel beams or girders – when it crumbled on them early on Tuesday morning.
The wounded were hurried to a rest home, and more than five employees are believed to be stuck inside the crumbled construction.
“The height of the accident spot is nearly 35 meters. Seventeen people have died in the accident. We were able to find three people alive, they were injured but are out of danger. They are undergoing treatment at government-run hospitals,” Ashok Shingare, Thane District Collector, who supervised the pursuit as well as saving procedures, informed a news agency.
