Sheikh Hamad To Run For Uafa Vice-Presidency

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced the candidacy of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani for the position of vice-presidency of Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA) for Asia, and member of UAFA's Council for the current electoral session which extends until 2025.

In a statement published on its website, QFA affirmed that elections would be held within the agenda of UAFA General Assembly meeting to be held on August 10 in Saudi Arabia.

In the elections held in June 2021 to select the new executive office for UAFA in its new session 2021-2025, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal elected President of UAFA by acclamation.

Former president of QFA, Sheikh Hamad won the membership of FIFA Council in the elections that were held during the 33rd Congress of the Asian Confederation last February
