Turkish leader, Chinese foreign minister meet for discussions


(MENAFN) Turkish Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in the capital Ankara for discussions.

Previously, Wang, who is a participant of the diplomatic agency of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee as well, received the Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to talk over two-sided ties, local and global topics.

Turkey’s Communications Directorate posted on Twitter following the gathering "During the meeting, in which all aspects of Turkish-Chinese relations were addressed, ways were discussed to make more effective use of dialogue and consultation mechanisms between the two countries such as Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, Consultation Mechanism of Foreign Ministers, Consular Consultations, Joint Economic Commission."

On the topic of enhancing efforts to bring into line China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Turkey’s Middle Corridor Initiative, Erdogan stated that they aspire to arrange the initial gathering of the top functioning group founded to this day, it further mentioned.

Erdogan uttered his aspiration for sturdier cooperation among both of the nations, which have strong impact on international and local relationships, the directorate declared. Methods to accomplish a more stable and continual form for two-sided exchange among Turkey as well as China in addition to topics of mutually elevating investments were also argued.
