Weight-loss medications causes ‘suicidal thoughts’

(MENAFN) The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is going over some weight-loss vaccines for stated dangers of encouraging suicidal thoughts and self-damage between consumers. A possible issue related to the drugs was initially highlighted by Iceland’s health watch guard, which informed a minimum of three cases of similar actions.

The problem is allegedly associated with several vaccines containing liraglutide which is formed by Danish pharmaceutical firm Novo Nordisk, namely Wegovy as well as Saxenda, also a comparable Ozempic type 2 diabetes vaccines. The issue is being studied by the EMA’s Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC).

While the investigation concentrates merely on composites that contain liraglutide, it could end up being extended to other comparable treatments in the same group of medications, an EMA representative informed British state broadcaster BBC on Monday.

The representative stated that “the review is being carried out in the context of a signal procedure raised by the Icelandic Medicines Agency, following three case reports.”
