(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Russian troops continue shelling the Ochakiv direction, attacking the Beryslav direction with guided bombs, and opening fire in the Kherson direction. The relevant statement was made by Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces Natalia Humeniuk during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The enemy is on the defensive, trying to hold the frontiers they have set up. They are not aware of where the maximum threat may come from and, thus, they are trying to disperse the efforts of the defense forces while shelling the Ochakiv direction, pulling the forces and reserves of the Defense Forces there, attacking the Beryslav direction with guided bombs. There, they make attempts to destroy everything, right up to the coast line: any buildings, private enterprises, social infrastructure [...]. They are also extensively shelling the Kherson and Antonivka directions, since the hysteria that was provoked around the Antonivka Bridge is still ongoing among the enemy,” Humeniuk told.
In her words, Ukrainian warriors are carrying out counterbattery measures from their positions, mopping up the territory to ease the situation with enemy attacks on the right bank.
According to Humeniuk, over the past day, some Russian sabotage groups have been eliminated, who were trying to maneuver on boats.
“The number of attacks has reduced. Over the past day, there have been around 60 strikes compared to 90+ before. But, they are concentrated quite heavily in certain areas. The enemy has focused efforts on the three main directions: Beryslav, Kherson and Ochakiv,” Humeniuk added.
A reminder that, on July 9, 2023, Russian troops attacked the Kherson region 51 times. Five civilians were reported injured.
