Turkish Vice-President Visits Museum Of Islamic Art

Doha, Qatar: Within the framework of his visit to the State of Qatar, Vice-President of the Republic of Turkiye HE Cevdet Yilmaz and the accompanying delegation visited the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) on Sunday.

His Excellency, accompanied by Deputy Director for Museum Affairs at MIA Sheikha Al Nassr, toured the museums various sections and wings, and was briefed on its holdings of Islamic antiquities, artifacts and rare treasures of heritage, including books, manuscripts and coins in addition to articles of glass, ivory, textiles, wood, gems, and historic artifacts dating back fourteen centuries, collected from three continents.

The Turkish vice-president was briefed on the establishment of the Museum of Islamic Art and its role in spreading science, culture and arts. The visit concluded with inking His Excellency's signature in the museum's golden record.

Turkish vice president leaves Doha

His Excellency and the accompanying delegation left Doha on Sunday evening, and were seen off upon departure from Hamad International Airport by Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi and Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to the State of Qatar HE Dr Mustafa Goksu.
