Ex-Afghan Interpreter Gunned Down In Washington

KABUL (Pajhwok): An Afghan man who fled the country in 2021 has been gunned down in Washington DC, reports a major US media outlet.
After migrating with his family to the US, Nasrat Ahmadyar was shot to death while on an extra shift as a driver. Police are looking for suspects.
CNN quoted police as saying the 31-year-old was found unconscious with a gunshot wound in his vehicle. The man succumbed to his injury after being evacuated to a hospital.
The victim had served as an interpreter for US army Special Forces in Afghanistan for a decade before fleeing the country in the wake of the Taliban takeover.
A police video showed four individuals running away from the scene of the shooting soon after the incident on Monday.
In a statement, police are offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of the killers.
Ahmadyar was only breadwinner for his spouse and four minor children, wanted his family to live in a safe place, where they could receive an education,.
According to the victim's cousin Ahmadi, Ahmadyar's family had been living in Virginia for the past eight months.
