Qatar, Arab Labour Organization Discuss Cooperation On Labour Issues

Doha, Qatar: Minister of Labour and President of the 111th session of the International Labour Conference H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, met yesterday with H E Fayez Ali Al Mutairi, Director General of the Arab Labour Organization, on the sidelines of the 111th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva.

During the meeting, they discussed joint cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Arab Labour Organization, to serve labour sector issues in the Arab countries, and ways to support and develop them during the coming period.

The Director General of the Arab Labour Organization, extended congratulations to H E Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri on his election as President of the 111th session of the International Labour Conference. He emphasized that Qatar's assumption of the conference's presidency signifies the State of Qatar's remarkable achievements in bringing about significant improvements within the employment sector.

They explored strategies for utilizing the conference as a platform to improve and elevate the working environment, thereby promoting decent employment opportunities and fostering social justice across various Arab countries.

Separately, the Minister of Labour and President of the 111th session of the International Labour Conference H E Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri met Iran's Minister of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare H E Solat Mortazavi. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Iran, especially in the areas of the labour sector.
