Railway Accident Kills 261, Injures 650 Others In E. India


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) NEW DELHI, June 3 (KUNA) -- A train accident in eastern Indian state of Odisha killed 261 people and injured 650 others, said Indian railway authorities on Saturday.
The rescue operation was over following the disastrous accident in Odisha, the Press Trust of India said quoting South Eastern Railway spokesperson Aditya Chowdhury.
"The number of casualties in Friday's railway accident has increased to 261. Another 650 injured passengers are being treated at various hospitals in Odisha," Chowdhury said. (end)
