Muslim World League Launches Ramadan Food Baskets Project In Pakistan


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Islamabad, March 28, 2023, SPA – The Muslim World League (MWL) launched a program for distributing Ramadan food baskets in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan as part of MWL's humanitarian efforts and to complement the humanitarian role Saudi relief institutions play around the world.
The program was kick-started during a celebration held today at MWL's headquarters here in the attendance of Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki and Caretaker Minister of Health in Pakistan's Punjab Province Dr. Jamal Nasir, in addition to a number of officials.
Saad bin Masoud Al Harthy, the MWL's regional director in Pakistan, stated that the program distributes 3,500 food baskets, each weighing 33 kg, covering a family's consumption for a month. Al Harthy added that the program is part of the humanitarian efforts the MWL provides in all fields across Pakistan to meet the needs of the needy people in Pakistan.
Al Harthy added that the program has benefited thousands of poor and impoverished people and widows in different areas in Pakistan. The beneficiaries are selected based on fieldwork and professional standards.
Nasir expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Pakistani government and nation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and MWL's members for their sincere and perpetual fraternal stances with Pakistan.
