QNA Inaugurates Training Hall

Doha: Qatar News Agency (QNA) inaugurated yesterday the QNA Training Hall at the agency's headquarters in Al Dafna district, Doha.

The inauguration comes in line with QNA's vision seeking to develop its cadres and raise their efficiency by offering specialised quality training programmes presented by professional trainers and experts.

Director-General of QNA Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi inaugurated the hall in the presence of several QNA officials.

On this occasion, he stressed that this step comes within the framework of the QNA's plans and aspirations to create a creative journalistic environment through continuous training that keeps pace with the latest developments and in accordance with best practices in the field of media.

He added that QNA would spare no effort in providing the most qualified lecturers and trainers in various media disciplines and adhere to standards of quality, performance and excellence, in addition to employing its theoretical and practical expertise in journalism that extends for nearly half a century.

Training is one of the main pillars that media institutions need amid the rapid developments in the media field at the global level, in addition to keeping pace with the country's great developments in journalism and media, which requires qualifying cadres and building media capacities in various agencies, he said.

He indicated that the QNA Training Hall would train press and media graduates who wish to join QNA or media, and communication and public relations departments in other institutions across the country.

QNA seeks to make this hall a destination for journalistic and media training in the country, to contribute to building capacities and media cadres in various institutions through professional training programs and according to strict professional standards in a way that contributes to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030, he said.

QNA Training Official Khadija Hussein Abdullah said that the hall consists of two rooms, each with a capacity of 20 participants and is currently designated for QNA's employees to raise their efficiency and development through the specialised trainers and experts from inside Qatar. She added that the hall is equipped with the latest equipment and technologies to provide professional courses in an integrated professional training environment.
