(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) MANAMA, 12th March, 2023 (WAM) -- Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of Bahrain's Consultative Council (Shura Council), on the sidelines of the meetings of the 146th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which are taking place in Manama from 11th to 15th March 2023.
During the meeting, Ghobash commended Bahrain's efforts to host the world's largest parliamentary gathering, stressing that their success in hosting the IPU meetings further strengthens the Kingdom's global status.
The two sides lauded the ongoing parliamentary meetings between their countries, and the keenness to promote parliamentary diplomacy.
Ghobash said that the UAE supports the distinguished initiatives and steps taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote of tolerance, coexistence, and dialogue among all countries and peoples, highlighting the strong ties that UAE to Bahrain share.
For his part, Al Saleh praised the close parliamentary cooperation and coordination between Bahrain and the UAE, which exemplifies the deep-rooted relations between their countries, and the sustainable development and remarkable progress they are witnessing in various fields.
The meeting was several members from the FNC and the Bahraini Shura Council.
