Minister of municipality visits disaster management camp organized by QRCS in Doha


(MENAFN) Yesterday, the Minister of Municipality, H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, paid a visit to the 9th Disaster Management Camp (DMC-9), which was organized by the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) under the auspices of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH). Upon arrival, the Minister was warmly welcomed by Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, the CEO of QRCS, Hussain Aman Al Ali, the Head of DMC-9, and Mohamed Rashid Al Marri, the Deputy Head of DMC-9.

During the visit, the Minister was given a comprehensive tour of the camp's facilities, which included the field hospital and emergency operations room. He was also introduced to various training spaces and observed several disaster scenarios. Impressed by what he saw, the Minister expressed his gratitude to QRCS for the initiative and commended the participants for their excellent preparedness and reactions.

Furthermore, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Humanitarian Funds in Doha, also attended the morning meeting, and shared his own experiences with the trainees. He emphasized the strategic importance of humanitarian action for the State of Qatar and lauded the efforts of QRCS in organizing such an event.

Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz Al Thani stated, "Humanitarianism is the act of helping others, irrespective of their religion, race, or citizenship. This approach must be extended to everyone, with no discrimination, and serve as an example to the whole world. I am delighted to see this camp organized at such a high level of excellence and success. It is a source of pride for Qatar to have an event like this, which is the only one of its kind offered in Arabic. I am willing to support and promote this idea globally."

Overall, the visit served as an opportunity for the Minister and other dignitaries to recognize the importance of disaster management and to appreciate the work of QRCS in organizing such an event to train volunteers in preparing for and responding to various disasters.
