(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 8. Several flights
from Türkiye to Azerbaijan have been postponed due to the powerful
earthquake and the current weather conditions in Türkiye, which
also affects the delays in cargo deliveries, trend reports.
Azerbaijan's Limak postal and courier delivery service company,
commenting on the issue, said that events in Türkiye have caused
delay in the delivery of parcels.
Another Azerbaijani cargo company, Starex, noted that due to the
earthquake and weather conditions in Türkiye, there are problems
with the delivery of parcels to Azerbaijan, and it's unclear how
long this continues.
According to Kargo company operating in Azerbaijan's Sumgayit,
parcels are expected to be delivered from Türkiye within six
days.
Other companies involved in the delivery of goods from Türkiye
to Azerbaijan have been facing similar problems.
At present, along with Azerbaijan's state postal operator
(Azerpost), over 60 companies are engaged in the delivery of goods
from Türkiye to Azerbaijan.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 has hit southeastern
Türkiye on Feb. 6, 2023. The earthquake occurred at a depth of
seven kilometers in the Pazarcik region of Kahramanmaras Province.
The provinces of Hatay, Gaziantep, Kilis, Osmaniye, Malatya,
Adiyaman, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Adana and Kahramanmaras were
subjected to severe destruction.
The quake's epicenter was located 26 km away from the city of
Gaziantep with a population of about 1.06 million.
Türkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority said that
three more earthquakes with a magnitude of 6.4-6.6 rocked Gaziantep
province in south-eastern Türkiye. As a result of the earthquake
that hit Türkiye, strong tremors were also felt in Syria, Lebanon,
Egypt, and Cyprus.
As many as 8,574 people have been killed, and 49,133 got injured
in the quake.
