Education Minister Underlines Scholarship Programs' Support Of National Labor Market

Doha: The Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi said on Monday that the diversity of scientific disciplines for Qatari students on scholarships abroad will provide the national labor market with multiple competencies in various fields, which will benefit the State of Qatar's renaissance project.

Addressing a gathering held by the ministry's Higher Education Affairs Sector for Students on Scholarships Abroad, the minister said the scholarships provide knowledge and represent an opportunity to interact and learn about different cultures, which will develop the human skills of the students on scholarship and help create independent personalities able to serve their country, and compete in the labor market locally, regionally and internationally.

'You are Qatar's human capital, and you are its future knowledge force, and the State counts on you to achieve the goals and objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030, and the country has overcome all difficulties for you to move towards broad horizons, to receive useful knowledge that will benefit the country,' Al Nuaimi told the students.

'The future of this country is your responsibility, and you must make every effort to shoulder this responsibility and hand it over to those who will come after you to complete the path of success and giving,' she added.

Her Excellency drew attention to the ministry's tireless and continuous endeavors to remove any obstacles that stand in the way of all students, stressing the importance of communicating with the cultural attachés abroad to solve their academic and social problems.

For his part, the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Khalid Al Ali said that the open meeting is part of the ministry's commitment to support and qualify distinguished students, by providing scholarships in various scientific disciplines, and in the most prestigious international universities.

He added that this event reflects the deep interest of the ministry to benefit from international expertise and harness it to serve the students of Qatar, a move in line with the strategic plans aimed at graduating Qatari competencies capable of contributing to serving the country, and achieving Its development and growth, in light of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The meeting also stems from the ministry's firm and a deep belief that the mission of foreign missions lies in supplying the Qatari society with distinguished cadres, capable of engaging effectively in the process of construction and development, Dr. Al Ali said.

He stressed the importance of an early understanding of the policies and regulations, and study systems at foreign universities to avoid many academic problems that may be an obstacle to the student's progress and success.

Director of Admissions and Registration at the Department of Scholarships Saleh Al Muftah presented the statistics related to the academic and financial aspects of the scholarship students.

At the end of the meeting, the scholarship students were allowed to raise inquiries, listen to their proposals, and discuss solutions from the Ministry's Higher Education Affairs Sector.
