Kuwait's October Crude Oil Exports To Japan Down 7.1 Pct


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TOKYO, Nov 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's crude oil exports to Japan in October declined 7.1 percent from a year earlier to 7.79 million barrels, or 251,000 barrels per day (bpd), down for the second month in a row, government data showed Wednesday.
As Japan's third-biggest oil provider, Kuwait supplied 9.2 percent of its total crude imports, compared with 11.5 percent in the same month of last year, the Japanese Natural Resources and Energy Agency said in a preliminary report.
Japan's overall imports of crude oil in October grew 15.7 percent from a year earlier to 2.72 million bpd for the 15th straight monthly expansion.
Shipments from the Middle East accounted for 94.7 percent of the total, up 5.4 percentage points from the year before.
By country, the United Arab Emirates remained in the top spot, with imports from the country surging 32.7 percent from the year before to 1.09 million bpd, followed by Saudi Arabia with 1.02 million bpd, up 15.1 percent.
Qatar ranked fourth with 143,000 bpd and the US fifth with 77,000 bpd, respectively.
Japan is the world's-third biggest oil consumer after China and the US. (end)
