Turkiye: Many Gunmen Killed In 'Claw Sword' Operation In Northern Syria, Iraq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- Turkiye announced on Sunday its 'Claw Sword' air operation in northern Iraq and Syria resulted in killing many gunmen and demolishing 89 strongholds.
The operation targeted the gunmen hideouts in Qandil mountains, Asous, Hakurk in northern Iraq, Ain Al-Arab, Tal Refaat, Al-Malkiya and Al-Jazira in the north of Syria, the ministry of defense said in a statement.
Up to 89 positions for the gunmen, including shelters, caves, trenches, ammunition warehouses, offices and training plots were destroyed, adding that 'leaders of terrorist organizations were neutralized,' alluding to anti-Turkish Kurdish groups, namely the outlawed Labor Party of Kurdistan (the PKK).
