Danish premier believes Nord Stream gas leaks are sabotage

(MENAFN) Danish Premier Mette Frederiksen on Tuesday stated that it is tough to believe that the gas leaks on the Russian Nord Stream pipelines are a "coincidence."

"It is unusual and I would like to say that we from ... the government ... and the authorities are taking this very seriously,” the premier informed a local news outlet DR.

Enquired if the three leaks are caused by someone, Frederiksen stated that it cannot be “ruled out.”

She stated that "It is one ... extraordinary ... situation, and there are three leaks, which is why it is difficult to imagine that it should be random."

The Danish Energy Authority assured that the gas leaks from Nord Stream pipelines is going to carry on for days, the daily Berlingske mentioned.

Soon after discoveries around the leaks on the Russian Nord Stream 2, the Swedish Maritime Authority released a cautioning on Tuesday nearly two leaks on the Russia-owned Nord Stream 1 pipeline in Swedish and Danish waters.
