Russia's partial mobilization has shown certain exceptions

(MENAFN) Some skilled workers will be exempt from Russia's partial mobilization of military reservists, announced by President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday. The Defense Ministry said on Friday that persons with a post-secondary degree who work in information technology, telecommunications, mass media, or finance will be allowed waivers.

Organizations with qualified personnel must submit a list of their employees to the Russian General Staff to ensure that they are not called up for duty.

Exemptions from service are provided for some able-bodied people, including those whose presence at home is required to assist dependent family members and workers in strategically significant enterprises, such as military manufacturing.

The Defense Ministry stated that it plans to enlist 300,000 personnel into active service, with combat experience and professions essential for the military operation Ukraine being prioritized.

It was reported on Thursday that approximately 10,000 volunteers traveled to recruiting facilities on the first day of mobilization, even before the government properly launched the draft.
