Doha: FIFA World Cup 2022 hosts Qatar will take on Croatia in a friendly game at Stadion Wiener Neustadt in Wiener Neustadt, Austria today.

The match will be played on the sidelines of Qatar's training camp, underway in Wiener Neustadt where Al Annabi are preparing for their maiden FIFA World Cup appearance.

Qatar had previously met Croatia on June 30 last year at the Aldo Dorsena stadium in the Croatian city of Pula, with the Asian champions winning 3-1.

The Felix Sanchez-coached side will continue its friendly matches against Canada on September 23, and Chile on September 27 in Austria.

The three tests are part of the third phase of the direct preparation program for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, where the Qatari team went through two previous stages, the first of which was a camp in the Spanish city of Marbella last June.

Al Annabi also played a four-nation friendly tournament in Austria last month, also featuring Jamaica, Ghana and Morocco. The team remained unbeaten in the event clinching a win besides playing two draws.

Qatar are in Group A of the World Cup that also includes Ecuador, Senegal and the Netherlands.

They will meet Ecuador in the tournament's opening game on November 20 at the Al Bayt Stadium.

Qatar will play their second match against Senegal on November 25 at Al Thumama Stadium before returning to Al Bayt Stadium for their last group match against the Netherlands on November 29.
