The Permanent Mission of Qatar to the UN in Geneva, in co-operation with the Education Above All Foundation (EAA), organised a photography exhibition at the United Nations Palace in Geneva on the occasion of the UN International Day to Protect Education from Attack. In a speech, HE Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN Dr Hind bint Abdul Rahman al-Muftah welcomed the attendees, praising the EAA participation with the pictures presented on the right to education, which show the impact of the attacks on education. She affirmed the right of every child to attend school, as a basic human right, and a prerequisite for the well-being of our children. She stressed that celebrating this day is, in fact, a celebration of ensuring a safe place for children to learn and develop their skills, noting that the investment today in the children's right to education is an investment in the future society. Without a good education, we will not be able to secure a safe and sustainable future for all of us, she added. She called for making this day an opportunity to draw attention to the need for concerted action to realise the right to education and to stop all attacks on schools, universities and other places of education so that they always remain a safe haven to promote peace, development and stability.
