Qatar Takes Part In 29Th Meeting Of GCC Customs Union Authority

Riyadh: The State of Qatar participated in the 29th meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) customs Union Authority, which was held on Monday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh.

Chairman of the General Authority of Customs (GAC) Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal and a number of directors of the Authority's departments represented the State of Qatar during the meeting.

The meeting discussed the memorandum of the General Secretariat on the need to complete the requirements of the Customs Union according to a specific time frame, and the importance of activating the role of the Customs Union Authority to exercise all the tasks entrusted to it, in order to enhance the achievement of the desired integration in the economic fields.

The meeting also included a discussion of the latest developments on the Common Customs Law of GCC countries and the minutes of meetings of the Customs Procedures & Computerization Committee, Customs Settlement and Transfer Committee, and Harmonized System Committee. In addition to discussing the report of the work team of the authorized economic operator among the Arab Gulf countries (GCC AEO Program), and other topics and reports of the technical committees listed on the agenda.
