Event part of Jawahar lal Nehru National Science, Mathematics and Environment exhibition initiative

SRINAGAR- Scores of students from various government schools from all the ten districts of the Kashmir Division took part in a seminar and an exhibition of models related to science, math, and the environment on Saturday in the sprawling auditorium of the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) in Bemina.
The exhibition, which was attended by numerous experts in the field and a representative of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Dr. C.V. Shimray, who had flown in from New Delhi, is a component of a program run by the NCERT since 1971 with the goal of promoting, popularizing, and instilling a scientific temperament in young people.
The Jawaharlal Nehru National Science, Mathematics, and Environment Exhibition (JNNSMEE), which is held at venues around the nation, is a platform for kids to demonstrate their aptitude in science and math as well as how they have applied these subjects to many aspects of daily life.
The three top models were identified by the experts after they evaluated each of them and assigned grades based on merit. Similarly, the finest three student speakers were chosen after they listened to their speeches on diverse topics related to science, math, and the environment.
An SCERT official stated that the models would go through more review and enhancements before possibly being displayed at the national level.
NCERT's Dr C V Shimray appreciated the efforts of the students in giving a shape to their creative ideas.
While appreciating the young students, Dr. Shimray stated that their active participation abundantly demonstrated the scientific temperament we wish to foster in the children.
“The fact that the pupils are now thinking creatively and beyond the box is more significant and encouraging,” she said.“It's important to support this since it will eventually result in something real.”
According to Dr. Shimray, the aim of her visit is to acquire a sense of the situation on the ground, to hear directly about the difficulties that the students face, and to offer support for their initiatives.
Later, as a form of encouragement, appreciation certificates were awarded to the exemplary students.
