Palestinians Blast Israeli Settlers' Plan To Storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RAMALLAH, Aug 4 (KUNA) -- The Palestinians on Thursday condemned a plan by some 3,000 Israeli settlers to storm Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque next week, slamming the move as an attempt to alter the landscape of the holy compound.
Israeli forces are adamant about enforcing a 'new status quo' in the holy city of Jerusalem, said Mahmoud Al-Habash, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' special advisor on religious affairs.
He urged the international community to intervene and stop the efforts of Israeli radical groups to wage a 'religious war' on Al-Aqsa mosque, ahead of a plan by right-wing Israeli settlers to carry out mass raids of Al-Aqsa Mosque next week. (end)
