QNL Hosts Book Discussion About Former Minister's First Novel

Doha: Qatar National Library hosted a book discussion and signing for H E Dr. Abdulrahman bin Salem Al Kuwari, former Minister of Health's first novel, Smedra, yesyerday . 

The novel by Dr. Al Kuwari, mixes reality and imagination and addresses several social, political, intellectual and human rights issues stemming from the principles of freedom, justice and equality as absolute human rights. 

The event was attended by H E Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kawari, Minister of Minister and President of Qatar National Library and His Excellency Saad Al Rumaihi, President of the Qatar Press Center. 

Commenting on the event, H E Dr. Hamad Al Kawari said:“Today, we celebrate the launch of His Excellency Dr. Al Kuwari's first novel Smedra, which provides a profound window into the issues of change and political transition in the Arab world. This ceremony falls in line with the mission of the Library in promoting educational and cultural opportunities throughout Qatar and the world. We are also pleased to provide a platform for Qatari writers and creators to support them in showcasing their work.” 

As part of its aim to promote imagination, discovery and nourishment to the human spirit, the Library will continue to invest its efforts to share knowledge and empower future generations across and beyond Qatar.
