Gamea said the meeting confirmed the unprecedented support to boost economic and trade relations to distinguished levels. She invited QBA members to visit Cairo and discuss investment opportunities and potential co-operation. She also lauded the value of the existing investments of the Qatari private sector in different regions of Egypt.
The minister also reviewed Egypt's experience in establishing and managing industrial complexes, which resulted in the rise of 17 industrial complexes in 15 governorates nationwide, comprising all productive sectors.
During the meeting, Gamea said all parties agreed on re-activating the Egyptian-Qatari Joint Business Council to strengthen co-operation and economic integration, and to encourage the private sector in both countries to increase joint investments and inter-trade between Egypt and Qatar.
Sheikh Faisal stressed the importance of strengthening joint co-operation between Qatar and Egypt in various economic sectors, especially in new industrial zones, and benefiting from the great opportunities and potentials of both countries. He also welcomed the invitation to visit Egypt and its industrial complexes and explore investment opportunities available in the country.
Alfardan stressed the importance of developing joint commercial, industrial, and investment relations, highlighting the interest of Qatari businessmen to invest in the Egyptian market and benefit from the significant investment opportunities available in the industry and service sectors.
Sheikh Hamad stressed the importance of strengthening joint efforts between businessmen in the two countries and expanding Egyptian-Qatari investment projects, especially since there are industrial partnerships between 4,500 Egyptian and Qatari companies. He also emphasised the importance of introducing Qatari companies to investment opportunities in Egypt to encourage them.
He also stated that the meeting reviewed all the trade agreements signed between the two countries and the possibilities of benefiting from these agreements, as well as the Arab Free Trade Zone agreement in increasing the rates of trade exchange between the two countries.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of holding an exhibition of Egyptian products in Doha in February and another exhibition of heritage products, in addition to the possibility of Qatar's participation in the 'Our Heritage' exhibition of products and handicrafts.
