(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has visited frontline positions in Zaporizhzhia Region and met with those who evacuated from the city of Mariupol.

The relevant statement was made by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko on Instagram , an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Talking to Mariupol residents,” Tymoshenko wrote.

In the video, the head of the state was accompanied by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Head Oleksandr Starukh.

According to the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Zelensky visited a sanatorium in Zaporizhzhia Region and talked to Ukrainians, who had been forced to leave their homes due to the Russian armed aggression and are now housed there.

“I understand that everyone wants to return home. And this housing, no matter how comfortable it is, cannot be compared with your own home. There is no place like home,” Zelensky said.

The President of Ukraine expressed confidence that people who had been forced to leave their cities would definitely return home.

“We have no doubt that we will liberate all the temporarily occupied cities. It will definitely happen,” Zelensky stressed.

The meeting also focused on providing housing for internally displaced persons. The President of Ukraine assured Mariupol residents that all people who had lost their homes should receive comfortable housing.

“We will definitely help you resolve this issue,” the head of the state promised.

Zelensky also presented tablets to children living in the sanatorium.

In particular, a gift was presented to 8-year-old Yehor Kravtsov, who kept a diary while under shelling in the city of Mariupol. The boy's writings were published on social networks and were called 'Mariupol Diary'. Yehor described bombardments and the injuries he suffered in shelling. The diary also contains tragic stories of how Yehor's grandmother died and how the enemy destroyed his hometown.

In addition, as part of his visit to Zaporizhzhia Region, the President of Ukraine visited the frontline positions of Ukrainian defenders.

The head of the state checked the operational situation on the frontline of defense.

Zelensky talked to Ukrainian servicemen and presented them with state awards and valuable gifts.

“I want to thank you for your great work, for your service, for protecting all of us, our state. I am grateful to everyone. I want to wish you and your families good health. Take care of yourselves!” Zelensky said.

The attendees also honored the memory of the fallen defenders with a moment of silence.
