193 nurseries operating in Qatar: Al Naama

Doha: Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Omar Abdul Aziz Al Naama, recently held a welcome meeting with managers and accountable of nurseries operating in Qatar, as well as the owners and license holders of these nurseries.

He also emphasised that nurseries' work is an integrated process in which the Ministry and nurseries collaborate with other parties to ensure the provision of an outstanding service for children aged two months to four years old, mentioning the increased demand for this service by parents, as there are around 193 nursery in various regions of the country, where parents, entrust these institutions to their children, while they are working.

The two meetings stem from the ministry's keenness to communicate with those in charge of nurseries, whose affiliation has recently and officially transferred to the ministry, to listen to them, exchange views and ideas with them, discuss development proposals, and overcome any obstacles or difficulties facing this important sector.

At the start of the meeting, Al Naama praised the Ministry of Development's role in the previous period and its supervision of nurseries, that were within its authority, emphasizing the importance of nurseries in caring for children as well as providing educational services to them before joining the k12 educational continuum. For their part, nurseries accountable and license holders reviewed all the issues and difficulties they face, presented a number of proposals that would develop work in this sector, and presented several ideas and experiences that could be benefited from.​
