MoI, Ministry of Justice sign cooperation agreement

Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Ministry of Justice signed yesterday a joint cooperation agreement on organising the electronic link between the two sides, with the aim of achieving accuracy in data, improving the level of services provided to the public, and facilitating their procedures and speeding up their implementation.

The agreement comes within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Justice to develop the legal services and modernise the technical infrastructure of legal departments. Work is currently underway to launch complete electronic services for real estate registration and documentation services, as well as electronic services for the State cases system, the legal portal, and the geographic information system, as part of the Ministry of Justice's strategic plan 2020-2022 which aims at modernising the Qatari legal system.

The agreement enhances cooperation in the legal system for managing State cases with regard to communicating with persons and establishments for judicial announcements and official notifications, in accordance with the provisions of National Address Law No. 24 of 2017.

Assistant Undersecretary at the Office of H E the Minister of Justice Ahmed Hassan Al Kuwari said that the signing of the cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Interior comes within the framework of the governmental cooperation and integration strategy, which raises the level and quality of legal services provided by the Ministry of Justice, benefiting from the electronic linking with the Ministry of Interior, which is considered a supporter of ministries and government institutions to develop their services and bring them closer to citizens and residents.

Assistant Director of the Information Systems Department at the Ministry of Interior Brigadier Ibrahim Muhammad Al Harami said that this agreement reflects the commitment of the Ministries of Interior and Justice to provide electronic legal services with the latest applicable systems, in a manner that shortens time and effort for the public and those dealing with State Cases Department at the Ministry of Justice.
