Green Tent affirms importance of endowment banks, their social, cultural, health dimensions

Doha: The first symposium of the Green Tent activities of the 'A Flower Each Spring' program affirmed the importance of endowment banks and their social, cultural and health dimensions and the role of the endowments in Islamic civilization throughout its history, and the projects it achieved, which still have a prominent role in the lives of millions of Muslims around the world.
During the symposium organized under the title 'The importance of endowment banks and their social, cultural and health dimensions,' which witnessed the participation of scholars from the State of Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Algeria and Iraq, Head of the 'A Flower Each Spring' program Dr. Saif Ali Al Hajri defined the endowment, noting that there are 12 verses in the Holy Quran that contain the words 'a good loan', considering the endowment is the best loan, and that the Islamic nation has a history worthy of being followed, so that everyone knows its merit in spreading the values of life, and its keenness on sustaining development.
Dr. Al Hajri called on the legislative bodies to ensure and formulate the necessary legislation to protect the legitimate gains of endowments in Islamic and non-Islamic countries with an emphasis on continuing to develop this great heritage and expanding its fields to ensure horizontal and vertical growth. He also called for the establishment and development of school programs for young people.
For their part, the participants in the symposium pointed out that the endowment has its development goals, and its legitimacy derived from the Holy Quran and the Sunnah, whether it is for public or private benefit.
