Jordan - Safadi stresses Kingdom's support for Saudi Arabia in face of Houthi attacks

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi stressed the Kingdom's solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the face of Houthi terrorist attacks that target vital facilities and the security and stability of Saudi Arabia.

During a meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on the sidelines of the Doha Forum, Safadi renewed the Kingdom's condemnation of the Houthi attacks on Saudi oil facilities, the most recent of which led to a fire in the distribution station of Saudi Aramco in Jeddah on Friday.

The deputy prime minister affirmed that Jordan stands with the Saudi Arabia in all procedures the country takse to protect its security and interests, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

The two ministers also went over means to enhance the“strategic and brotherly” ties between the kingdoms, stressing keenness to develop them in all fields in implementation of both countries' leaderships.

They also stressed that the two countries see eye-to-eye in facing challenges and continuing with efforts to increase cooperation to address regional crises and realise security and stability.

Safadi and Prince Faisal also discussed several regional and international issues, mainly the Palestinian cause, means to counter Houthi terrorism, efforts to reach a political solution to the Yemeni and the Syrian crises. They also went over the Ukrainian crisis and its repercussions on the region and beyond, especially regarding the energy sector and food security and diplomatic endeavours to reach a solution.

The two ministers agreed to continue communication and coordination regarding various regional issues.
