Majority of Asian stock markets end in negative territory on Fri


(MENAFN) On Friday, the majority of leading Asian stock markets ended in negative territory, owing to ongoing geopolitical concerns.

At 10:07 GMT, the Asia Dow, which comprises of blue-chip businesses located in the area, slid by 15.50 points, or 0.43 percent, to settle at 3,618.

The Chinese Shanghai Stock Exchange fell by 38 points, or 1.17 percent, to settle at 3,212; whereas, the Indian Sensex plunged by 139.4 points, or 0.24 percent, to hit 57,456.

The Hang Seng, the Hong Kong financial market benchmark for blue-chip equities, fell by 541.1 points, or 2.47 percent, to settle at 21,404.

The Nikkei 225 in Tokyo, on the other hand, extended its winning series to a ninth trading session, advancing 39.45 points, or 0.14 percent, to end at a peak of 28,150 which lasted for two months.
