FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Two young men in western Farah province have provided job opportunities for dozens of people to collect plastic waste.
Syed Ajab Gul and Sher Mohammad from Farah City took the initiative to collect paper and plastic waste.
The initiative will help keep the city clear and provide work opportunities for jobless and less fortunate people.
He said that up to 150 paid individuals brought them plastic tools and paper. In return, each one is paid 200 afs daily.
Rafiullah, a resident of Helmand province working with Ajab Gul, said:“I have been here for the past two weeks, getting 200 afs a day.”
Abdul Qayyum, hailing from Farah City, said:“From dawn to dusk, I collect plastic and paper from the ground and get 200 afs at the end of the day. This makes me really happy that I return home at dusk.”
This is the first time that the private sector has independently taken steps for the collection of plastic and paper in Farah City.
