Erdogan holds phone talks with Zelensky

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, Trend reports citing the Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidential Administration.

The parties discussed the latest developments around Ukraine.

Erdogan noted that Turkey is making intensive diplomatic efforts to establish peace.

The head of the Turkish state stressed that Ankara is striving for the soonest establishment of a long-term ceasefire in Ukraine. He pointed out that continuing the war would not benefit either side.

Erdogan assured that he would continue efforts to organize a meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia.

The head of state added that Turkey continues to deliver humanitarian aid to Ukrainians in Ukraine and in neighboring countries. President Erdogan also stressed the importance of the efficient operation of humanitarian corridors.
