H.E. Eng. Awaidha Murshed Al Marar: Women's empowerment and gender balance efforts in the UAE set an example to be emulated around the world
Abu Dhabi, UAE:“Women are the cornerstone of all efforts to build a strong community; their determination shapes a prosperous future for all Emiratis,” asserted His Excellency Eng. Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE).
“Emirati women have made unmatched achievements in various key sectors, benefitting from the tremendous support of our wise leadership, who has firmly positioned women a key partner in the UAE's development and a major contributor to the country's ambitious plans for the future,” H.E. added.“Women's empowerment and gender balance efforts in the UAE have come to set an example to be emulated around the world.”
“Women play a prominent role in supporting energy and water sustainability at both the local and international level, embedding sustainable consumption and rationing mindsets among all members of the community. This creates national momentum that accelerates the achievement of sustainable development goals and ensures social and economic prosperity around the world. Women are a fundamental pillar of the global energy sector, playing a notable role in decision-making and strategy-setting efforts to develop the sector and enhance its contribution to economies and societies,” H.E. Al Marar explained.
“With the immense support and attention provided by our wise leadership, Emirati women have come to set a role a model for modern women everywhere, sparing no effort to advance the comprehensive development of their country,” H.E. noted, citing the great role that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), the Mother of the Nation, as a pioneering global model in empowering women that has led to the success we see today for women, for the family, and for society.
