Ukraine - Russian invaders fire on police department, hospital in Chernihiv


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In Chernihiv, northern Ukraine, a Russian attack damaged the buildings of district Police department and district hospital.

'Shelling in the area of the Chernihiv Polytechnic Institute. District police department: the roof was smashed, windows broke. There were people in the building, but no casualties have been reported so far. District hospital: the shell hit the administration building. Windows got broken,' Suspilne media outlet posted on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

As reported, the enemy has been shelling the residential districts of Chernihiv for several days. The city center was also subjected to attacks. Many houses and buildings were damaged and destroyed, a historical monument was ruined, many civilians got injured.

On February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive attacks on residential districts of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.

Ukraine officially filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation at the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague. International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan initiated the start of investigation into the situation in Ukraine.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of all Ukrainian people, courageously resist the Russian aggression.
