Qatar participates in GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee meeting

Doha: The State of Qatar participated remotely in the 115th extra ordinary meeting of the GCC financial and Economic Cooperation Committee. 

Qatar was represented by Minister of Finance H E Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari. Developments in the financial policies, efforts of economic and financial reform to achieve economic and financial stability and promote the comprehensive and sustainable growth were reviewed during the meeting.

In this regard, their excellencies Ministers of Finance in the GCC States discussed the economic decisions issues by the Supreme Council. The memorandum of the General Secretariat regarding the completion and implementation of the common Gulf market tracks, and any obstacles facing implementation to overcome them, were also reviewed.

They also discussed what was reached by the Customs Union Authority in its meeting on January 9, 2022 to activate the work of the Authority and give it full powers to perform its tasks, in accordance with best practices that support the completion of all the requirements of the Customs Union, and the proposals of the General Secretariat to complete the remaining steps for the establishment of the Customs Union, according to a specific timetable.
