Tunisian law court passes judgment defendant to death for murdering officer


(MENAFN) A Tunisian court passed judgment a suspect to death in link with the murder of a police officer in a stabbing assault in 2019.

The communications office of the First Instance Court in the capital Tunis stated the law court as well detained two suspects for four and seven years for the same case, and a fourth defendant was innocent.

The first suspect was as well fined 350,000 Tunisian dinars (USD120,000).

The taken decisions on Saturdays are not final and still can be appealed.

In September 2019, a Tunisian policeman was knifed to death and a soldier was hurt in an assault outside a court in the northern city of Bizerte.
