Doha: The Fine Art pavilion at the 31st Doha International Book Fair is attracting many visitors daily and showcases dozens of paintings about Qatari environment and culture.

The price for the paintings ranges from QR 300 to QR20,000.

“All the paintings displayed here are for sale and about 10 paintings are sold daily, in addition to other requests for new paintings for majlis, homes or for gifting. Many of these paintings are for gifting and it has become a culture,” said Fahd Al Maadeed, head of the Fine Art pavilion.

He also said that 'we consider our participation complements all writers and authors as all books contain a drawing in some form, whether on the cover or on the inside pages.'

Most of the paintings exhibited in the pavilion depict science and culture and some show the Qatari environment.

He explained that diversity is required to attract visitors, especially those who understand paintings and discuss artists and their works.
