Doha: This week, Doha cinemas will see some interesting global and Arabic movies.
Among the films expected this week is the horror movie Scream 5, the fifth installment of the famous Scream series.
The latest installment revolves around a woman who returns to her hometown to find out the identity of a mysterious person who has committed many horrific crimes.
The film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett stars Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell and David Arquette.
The action suspense movie 'The 355' will also be screening this weekend in Doha cinemas. The movie revolve around a group of women who gather in a team called The 355, named after the first female spy in the history of the American Revolution, as they seek to stop a large conspiracy by a dark organization seeking to destroy the entire world. The movie is directed by Simon Kinberg and stars Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong'o and Diane Kruger.
Arab comedy For Zeko will also be screened this week. It deals with a simple family whose young son Zeko wins the opportunity to participate in the Smartest Child Contest, so they embark together on a journey to attend the contest. The movie is directed by Peter Mimi and stars Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, Menna Shalaby and Amr Abdel Jalil.
Malayalam comedy movie Super Sharanya, directed by Girish AD is now also being screened in the movies. The movie stars Anaswara Rajan, Sneha Babu, Mamitha Baiju, Arjun Ashokan and Devika Gopal Nair among others. It follows the story of Sharanya, a shy and introverted person, who moves to town to pursue engineering finds it difficult to cope with her new surroundings in college and her hostel.
Other movies screening in Qatar includes Sword Art Online (Japanese), The Colony (English), Naai Sekar (Tamil), The King's Man (English), 83 (Hindi), Sing 2 (Animation), etc.
Meanwhile, due to the Covid-19 precautionary measures in the country, unvaccinated people are not allowed to enter the cinemas. And children below 12 years old are allowed in The Pearl and Souq Waqif Novo cinemas only.
