Conflicts and disagreements between two leaders and parties are frequently resolved through group discussions and dialogues in politics. While some politicians may have a unique approach to conflict resolution, it is unlikely that they will fight their opponents physically.
Brazil , on the other hand, is a different story.
Two Brazilian politicians agreed to settle their disputes by fighting in a three-round MMA fight.
On Sunday, Borba's mayor, Simao Peixoto, went toe-to-toe with former councilman Erineu Alvas Da Silva. Da Silva defeated the mayor. But the mayor was the ultimate winner, according to reports.

In the presence of a referee, a large crowd cheered on the politicians as they hurled powerful punches and kicks at each other. After a flurry of kicks from Da Silva, Peixoto was pinned to the ring wall and even taken out with a strong punch against the face. Da Silva then attempted but failed, to put him on a submission hold.
Peixoto's crew live-streamed the fight, which lasted 13 minutes. Tickets for the fight cost $100, according to local media.
Why were they fighting in the first place?
The fight was fixed after Da Silva criticized Peixoto's management of a water park in Borba, according to reports. Da Silva demanded the fight in a video that circulated online in September.
Peixoto likewise took the challenge front-on and responded to the video in his unique style. He also accepted Da Silva's challenge in front of the camera, fists ready.
“I'm not a street fighter … I'm the mayor of the municipality of Borba. But if he really wants to fight … we're ready to fight … I've always been a winner,” he wrote on Facebook.
Mayor Peixoto appeared in another video prepping for the fight.
